First we want to say happy new year and thank you for your support in 2012. It was such a great year for us, we loved being able to feed you, hang out with you and share our plans for the restaurant.
As most of you know, we have been working hard on a brick and mortar space to bring the idea of Staplehouse to fruition. 2013 is our goal. We were well on our way, when several days ago, we received some news that set us back a little. Ryan has just been diagnosed stage 4 gallbladder caner. You can image the shock that this news has brought to us both. Some of you have become dear friends over the years, some of you we’re just getting to know and the rest of you are friends we just have not met yet. We felt it important to reach out to you all, our dear supports, and say we have a new mission for the next little while… to beat the hell out of cancer!
Our prelude dinners and small batch offerings will be less frequent for a while, but we will get back at it as we reach higher ground. We are blown away by the love and well wishes by a lot of you so far, and cannot tell you enough how much it has raised our spirits.
Be sure… this is not a pity party and Ryan isn’t one to feel sorry for himself. We intend on kicking open the doors, guns blazing with great new energy and direction in 2013 and beyond.
For some of you this information is a few days old, but to most brand new… if you wish to reach out, please do so. We will back in touch in the coming days, weeks… with more info on Ryan’s progress.
Thank you again for letting us do what we do over the last four years. We are so excited for what’s next.
We hope to see you all very soon.

I was diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitt’s Lymphoma and given a 10% chance of living another 5 years; and a 5% chance of living another 10 years.
That was 13 years ago. I’m not in remission anymore. I’m cured.
And by the way, I was a pill-popping, booze-swigging hedonist! Not a healthy person with all the support you have.
But I changed my lifestyle and left no stone unturned.
You WILL make it. Believe it!
If only because I just moved to Atlanta and I need a good place to eat! And meet friends! Im lonely ! lol. So LIVE and open your damn restaurant!!!
Ryan and Jen- I have followed your success since our days at H2O and I’ve been so exited for the 2 of you with all you’ve done. Please know that I’m thinking of you now and will hold you in my thoughts for healing and strength.

There is a good book that you might be interested in. The author is also local to Atlanta and spoke at the Atlanta Writer’s Club last summer. It’s called “You Can Beat the Odds” by Brenda Stockdale. See what you think. Prayers and love headed your way. ~Regina
You guys are awesome! It’s amazing to see how many people are rallying around you both. It’s proof that you’re living life the right way. You’ve given so much of yourselves, it will be amazing seeing it comes back to you now. We love you, and we’ll see you on the 27th.
Cheers
Ryan And Jen, you are in my husband’s and my prayers. Ryan, I remember you from your time in TN as a kid. My how time does fly. I was kind of jealous of your family because Monte was always bragging about the good meals he ate at your house. But I was so glad that he felt like your fam was his fam too. When I pray for you, I visualize the cancer cells leaving your body. We will continue to pray and ask God for a miracle however it comes …. great medicine or whatever. Love
Ryan & Jen- sending positive thoughts your way! As you know people like to share their own success stories. My dad is a two-time pancreatic cancer survivor and soon enough you will be sharing your own success story. Be Strong! U got this!
Ryan Hidinger!…my long lost friend! Love you & praying for you and Jen. Fight hard!
Ryan,
Sending happy thoughts and prayers your way.
My prayers are with you! You will kick this!
Ryan + Jen – we are sending lots of positive karma and good thoughts your way. Trixie sends lots of licks to you and the pups. Know that we will see you on the 27th, spread the word, and are here to do anything you need: I’m a great scribe for appointments, Scott is a hell of a dog walker, and we’re pretty decent assistants should you need anything on earth. Lots of love to Team Hidi from your farm league – Team Ferber. XO
My thoughts(very positive) are with you both…
Never give up!!
Chris & Janelle Schmidt’s Mom!
Sending mad love, good vibes and strong ass hugs(the kind that hurt your ribs for a few seconds).

Dear Ryan & Jen,
Ryan, I’ve never met you, but I met your amazing wife just once, at a brunch for our dear friend Lesley. I was immediately enamored with Jen and can only imagine how incredible you must be to have such great friends like the Grahams and such a wonderful wife.
To you both, you are in my and my husband’s thoughts and prayers as you continue down this road. I have no doubt that you will overcome this, and we will be fighting with you every step of the way. Our church is praying for you as well. Please don’t hesitate to let me/us know if we can do ANYthing to help.
Sending so much love and so many constant prayers your way.
Now, let’s go beat the hell out of this thing.
xoxo
