Team Hidi Benefit
King Plow Events Gallery
Atlanta, GA
Graciously Hosted By Bold American Events
Ryan Hidinger is one hell of a chef and an even better human being! For more than seven years, he has played an INTEGRAL role as a leader in the evolution at Muss & Turner’s as well as the conception and infancy of Local Three. His contributions to our company, our culture and our community are invaluable!
Ryan and his wife Jen are family to us and they are dearly loved by legions of people throughout Atlanta.
RYAN IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE AGAINST STAGE IV GALLBLADDER CANCER.
The good news is Ryan and his wife Jen have nothing but fight in them and they have an incredible assembly of people, called Team Hidi, who have stepped up to support them every step of the way. (see below)
THE ASK:
Please help us win this fight by removing all financial barriers on the Hidinger’s road to recovery. We need to get Ryan and Jen back on track to realizing their dream restaurant called Staplehouse in 2013. www.staplehouse.com
This is a chance to shed an immense amount of light, love and life on a Chef who represents EVERYTHING GREAT about our industry and being a human being.

Ryan,
I work with your mom and I have to say, she’s probably the most amazing woman I know. My family and I have been keeping you guys in our prayers. Your strength and spirit is inspiring. We will continue praying for you.
I have forwarded your website to my friends and family.
You have so many supporters in your corner.
Ryan, I have a friend in Atlanta ( Izabella Jones…little ball of fire, joy, and smiles !!! ) who mentioned your story and I was very moved by the out pour of support. Thank goodness for family and friends. Looking at the pictures of you and Jen there is a sense of love, strength, and passion for enjoying life. I am reminded of a book I purchased 6yrs ago at a Estate/garage/everything is for sale….including the mailbox !!! The book was the only thing I bought for $1.50 and the foreword is what I remember most…”If you really want to know about a man, what kind of character he has, you need only to look at the countenance of his wife. Everything he has invested can be found there.Including his words.”
The return of loving-kindness, words of life, and encouragement from Jen and others….are the seeds you planted in the hearts and minds of those around you, now embrace the harvest. Keep pushing forward.
Sending you a donation by mail.
Brother Love and support from Alabama.
Jen and Ryan,
Sending lots of love and light to you both as you enter this fight. The voluminous love headed your way from near and far is an amazing testament to the impact you two have already had on the world.
Looking forward to the event on the 27th.
Hugs,
Jessica
Ryan and Jen,
I was really moved by the outpouring of support you are receiving from the Chef driven community. I bought two tickets to your Benefit on the 27th. If the two of you need a lawyer for anything while you are fighting your battle let me know and my law firm is at your service. We’ll do everything we can Pro bono (i.e. free) for you!
Basically what I’m saying is don’t take shit from anyone. You’ve got a legal team at your service.

Ryan + Jen,
We are co-workers and friends of Scott as well. We were so sorry to hear the news, but so hopeful that you guys will come out on top of this! We can’t be there in person, but you all will be in our thoughts.
Much love from LA
Ryan and Jen, I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer last year around Christmas and after meeting with several Cancer clinics, I was told there was no treatment available for me and that I had a few weeks to a few months to live. My husband and I immediately began emptying our bucket list and having a blast. No one gave me a chance of making it very long. Well it’s been over a year now and I am feeling better than I did when diagnosed. I did have a round of radiation to slow down the growth and maybe that’s been the difference, who knows. My advice, enjoy each and every day you have. Don’t listen to those who say “it’s not fair”, listen to those who call and say “let’s go out!”. Life for all of us is too short but I promise you will find more love now that you ever would have. My best wishes to you and your family. Keep on rocking!
So moved by your story. I’ve never met you but will be sending much light and love to you and your family as you battle this. My father suffered from two rare blood diseases and faught with everything he had. You can beat this. Please let me know if I can donate a painting for the auction. With Love.
Chef and Jen:
We haven’t met, but I have eaten Chef’s food many times. Exquisite, to be sure.
I also have the extreme privilege of representing a number of renowned chef-restaurateurs in Atlanta and around the country, two of whom (Chef Grant Achatz of Chicago’s Alinea, Next and The Aviary/The Office, and Chef Steven Satterfield of Miller Union) are cancer survivors. As you may know, Chef Achatz survived a rather hideous bout with Stage IV(b) squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth and oral tongue, only missing 14 services at Alinea throughout his treatment, writing the Alinea cookbook and winning the Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Chef – US in the process.
I am also the son of two cancer survivors myself.
The operative term here, Chef, is “survivors.” With a positive attitude, a will not only to survive but to thrive and continue to do the good work you were put on this Earth to do, and the love and support of friends and family, you will beat this, and you will go on to achieve mightily. Of that I am supremely confident.
I have bought my ticket, and I am looking forward very much to meeting you at the event. I am also sending you a small token of my esteem to the Grant Terrace address above.
With warmest personal regards and best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery,
Steve
Our full support and prayers are with you!

While we have never met, we are very moved by your lives, both before and after the diagnosis. While we will certainly donate from afar when the tab is up, we would like to know if a week’s use of our home in the Colorado ski country would be something that you could auction?
Mary Ann + Steve
hey jeff. we appreciate the thoughts and know how important they are. having family here makes this process much more calming and we are grateful for scott and blair. we appreciate anything you can do. please share and spread the word.
thank you.
jen + ryan
kaitlyn, wow! i really do not know what to say, except thank you. spreading the word, not only for my husband and his cancer, but for cancer patients with this form of cancer and others is huge. it’s so rare and not much is known about it. i have passed your information onto a gentleman by the name of ryan turner and he can help you with logistics if we decide to go that route. ryan turner – ryant3@me.com.
thank you.

Love to you now and until all is right…Kerry xo
cannot say thank you enough for your support. it’s so huge!
great wendy! we hope to see you there!
amy, thank you! there’s a pretty big planning committee behind this and i know there’s not going to be a silent auction. only a big live auction, due to time constraints and nature of this event.
we ask for you to spread the word and purchase some shwag (if you would like) when it comes available. if you can sell the item/s and then donate the money, wonderful. it’s totally up to you. we certainly cannot thank you enough for your gesture.
jen + ryan
Ash and I have you all in our prayers. If I could, I’d live to donate a custom set of hand thrown dinnerware (or soup tureen?) to the auction, if you’re interested. We’re going to try to make it to the event, even if it’s just one of us. So glad you have such an amazing support system in place.
We have been thinking of you both. We hope to be at the benefit and enjoy exciting news of a kick ass recovery.
danielle, thank you to you and everyone at only you. that is amazing! our family (just today) was just thinking about getting a simple “teamHIDI” shield tattoo in support!!! and here you write. small world and just proves that strong energy works. i will pass your info onto the person in charge of organizing auction donations to better direct you. cannot thank you enough for your support.
So amazing to have such a great support system through such hard times. Please let us know if we can donate a tattoo gift certificate to help out. I know it’s mostly restaurants but we would love to help out. Good luck and we are thinking about you.
Love you both so much! And love your strength and energy and FIGHT. We are so in!
you both are huge inspirations to us. we value your friendship and support beyond words. we do not know how to repay you for your kindness and generosity. thank you for everything.
